Easy Vegetarian Green Banana Sandwich Recipe with Better Than Bread

Easy Vegetarian Cooking: Green Bananas:
The trick to cooking green bananas – boil them (while still in their skins) in salt water, until their skins change from green to black. Once that has happened, let them cool, peel and use however you want.
Our Recipe for Green Banana Curry:
- 5 Sliced green bananas (already cooked – easy trick above)
- 2 Tablespoons of Macadamia Oil (for frying)
- 1 teaspoon of Mustard Seeds
- 1 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Method:
- Have the green bananas prepared and ready ( That means; cooked, peeled and either grated or sliced.)
- Heat the oil on a Medium heat.
- Quickly fry the spices (Mustard, Cumin and Turmeric) in the oil, until they crackle and smell fragrant. (If you burn the spices start over and don’t do that again. Those few burnt bits will wreck your meal. )
- Add the prepared green bananas to the pan, and stir swiftly. This stops the spices from continuous contact with the oil, and stops them burning while incorporating the green bananas.
- When the bananas are coated with the spiced oils, its ready to be eaten.
Additions to this recipe:
You can add these before you add in the bananas:
- Garlic
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Aubergine
- Tamarind paste
Go where your taste-buds take you. Healthy options are my preference.
Assembling your sandwich; You can use whichever bread you like.
