I. Payment terms

We accept Visa, and Mastercard. The currency used on this website is South African Rand (ZAR). Prices include VAT of 15%. Geographic restrictions: purchases and delivery can be honoured in South Africa only. All purchases outside of the country need to be confirmed via email, as delivery will need to be determined per order. Payment is due on checkout.

By submitting payment information, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the full order amount, including applicable taxes, service fees, delivery fees, and gratuities where selected.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

T. Conditions of the Better Than Bread Event’s Hire
- Capacity Limit:
- Maximum attendance is limited to 40 persons unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- No Alcohol Policy:
- No alcohol may be brought onto or consumed anywhere on the property.
- The venue reserves the right to terminate an event immediately if alcohol is found on the premises.
- No Smoking Areas:
- Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas.
- No smoking is permitted in buildings, covered areas, gardens, or near vegetation.
- Water Feature / Dam Disclaimer:
- Guests acknowledge that the property contains natural water features.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- No swimming, boating, fishing, or water-based activities are permitted unless specifically authorised.
- Children:
- Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision and safety of minors at all times.
- Property Damage:
- The booking party accepts responsibility for damage caused by guests, contractors, suppliers, or attendees associated with the event.
- We have the right to recover repair costs from that the booking party.
- Deposits and Payment:
- 100% non-refundable booking deposit.
- Balance due 21 days before event.
- Dates are not secured until the booking deposit has been received.
- Cancellation Policy:
- More than 60 days, Deposit is forfeited.
- 30 – 60 days, 50% of fees forfeited.
- Less than 30 days notice, no refund.
- Weather Policy: The venue cannot guarantee specific weather conditions.
- Covered and indoor areas will be made available where possible.
- Adverse weather shall not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
- Weather Conditions
- The Client acknowledges that the Venue includes outdoor and semi-outdoor facilities and that weather conditions may vary.
- The occurrence of rain, wind, cold temperatures, heat, or other ordinary seasonal weather conditions shall not constitute grounds for cancellation, postponement, refund, or reduction of fees.
- Where available, the Venue may provide access to indoor or covered facilities as an alternative arrangement.
- Only weather conditions that render the Venue unsafe or unusable, as determined by the Venue acting reasonably, may be treated as a Force Majeure event.
- Noise Restrictions:
- No music or live bands allowed. This is a nature venue, and we respect the wildlife.
- Event Times:
- Guests and suppliers must vacate the property by 16h30 unless otherwise agreed.
- Deductions can be made for any additional time spent, from the applicable Deposit.
- Supplier Responsibility:
- All third-party suppliers remain responsible for their own equipment, personnel, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.
- Parking Disclaimer:
- Vehicles are parked entirely at the owner’s risk.
- The venue accepts no responsibility for theft, loss, or damage to vehicles or their contents.
- Force Majeure: Certain events are beyond our control.
- The Venue shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, cancellation, inability to perform, or failure to make the Venue available where such delay, interruption, cancellation, inability, or failure arises from circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Venue, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God;
- Severe weather conditions, storms, flooding, drought, lightning, or other natural disasters;
- Fire, explosion, structural damage, or environmental hazards;
- Power outages, utility failures, water supply interruptions, or telecommunications failures;
- Epidemics, pandemics, public health emergencies, or government-imposed restrictions;
- Acts of government, changes in law, regulations, permits, or licensing requirements;
- Civil unrest, riots, strikes, lockouts, labour disputes, sabotage, terrorism, or threats to public safety;
- War, armed conflict, or national emergencies;
- Any other event beyond the reasonable control of the Venue that renders the event unsafe, unlawful, impractical, or impossible to host.
- In the event of a Force Majeure occurrence, the Venue shall make reasonable efforts to notify the Client as soon as reasonably practicable.
- Where a Force Majeure event prevents the Event from proceeding on the booked date, the Venue may, at its sole discretion:
- (a) offer the Client an alternative date, subject to availability; or
- (b) issue a credit for the amount paid, less any non-recoverable costs already incurred by the Venue on behalf of the Client.
- The Venue shall not be responsible for any indirect, consequential, or additional costs incurred by the Client, including but not limited to travel expenses, accommodation costs, supplier fees, lost profits, or loss of opportunity.
- The Venue shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, cancellation, inability to perform, or failure to make the Venue available where such delay, interruption, cancellation, inability, or failure arises from circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Venue, including but not limited to:
- Indemnity Clause:
- Guests enter and use the property at their own risk.
- Photography and Marketing:
- The venue may photograph the property during events for marketing purposes, provided individuals are not identifiable without consent.
- Prohibited Activities:
- Alcohol
- Fishing
- Swimming
- Open fires without permission
- Fireworks
- Firearms and weapons
- Illegal substances
- Destruction of plants or landscaping
- Driving on lawns
- Camping without permission
- Nature and Garden Protection:
- No plants, flowers, branches, trees, rocks, or natural features may be removed, damaged, cut, picked, or disturbed.
- No stakes, pegs, hooks, ropes, nails, screws, or fixtures may be inserted into trees or landscaping without prior written approval.
